Thomas joined Kador & Partner as a Patent Attorney Trainee in November 2023.

He studied Molecular Biotechnology at the Technical University Munich, focusing mainly on genetic engineering, protein biochemistry and medical biotechnology. Thomas finished his studies in 2015 with his Master thesis on gene expression analyses to discover biomarkers associated with different stages of colorectal cancer.

Subsequently, he prepared his dissertation at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry and continued his work as a postdoctoral scientist at the Institute of Experimental Hematology of the university hospital Rechts der Isar, Munich. He worked on the mechanistic characterization of proteins regulating cell adhesion and migration, primarily in the context of leukocyte recruitment to inflamed tissues, by combining biochemical analyses with functional characterization of genetically engineered cell lines and mice.

Thomas speaks German and English and has some basic knowledge in French.
